Marinakis stated: “The result can be described as a Pyrrhic victory. It will go down as the biggest victory margin between the first and second parties in the history of the European elections. However, we did not achieve our goal of 33%.” He continued, “This indicates that while we have the people’s trust, we must run faster and correct our mistakes. We have three years ahead of us. What sets Kyriakos Mitsotakis apart, with five consecutive election victories, is his ability to understand and respond to messages from the electorate.”

Addressing the broader implications of the election results, Marinakis acknowledged the rise of the extreme right and increased voter abstention. He stressed that “the key word is efficiency. Before focusing on individuals, we need to look at the overall results. Without underestimating the outcome, we must consider the impact of a more relaxed election where people are not choosing a government. We have the majority of people’s trust, but we also receive their messages.”
