One video taken during a swearing in ceremony for new recruits clearly depicts the party leader Nikos Michaloliakos and MP Giorgos Germenis giving nazi salutes to a recruit:
“I am Golden Dawn because we are revolutionaries. We must kill the Jew that we all have hidden within us,” says one recruit as he pledges allegiance to the party during the ceremony.
Another Golden Dawn member says, ““Those who complain but refuse to get up off the couch are nothing but worms who deserve to be trodden on. On judgement day, far away from priests and their theories of absolution, we won't be asking them if they’re swinging right or left, simply because they will be swinging from their necks.”
Another says, “Yes, I am a nazi. And if others will be too together we will change the world. They are all traitors and deserve a heavy axe. We have faith and fire and we will burn them alive.”
In other photographs individuals in military uniform are also depicted giving nazi salutes indicating that members of Golden Dawn include military officers.
Most of the materials to come to light were discovered on the hard drives seized during recent raids on the homes of the MPs as part of the ongoing investigation of the group to determine whether it constitutes a criminal organisation. The investigation was launched in the wake of the murder of anti-fascist rapper Pavlos Fyssas by a supporter of Golden Dawn. The material has been passed by anti-terror police to special magistrates investigating the case.
The evidence assembled in the Golden case-file also includes video of a speech given by Michaloliakos in a restaurant in which he says, ““They say that we are the bad fascists, nationalists. The truth is that they are wrong; we are all that. Our aim is not to improve that which is currently in parliament or to correct the political forces that are corrupt and on their last legs, but finish them off once and for all,”
The video and photographs come from the groups activities over a number of years and include photographs of children attending Golden Dawn propaganda classes. Another file is a pdf entitled “Principles of propaganda. Dr Goebbels.”
