Among the arrested are three individuals currently receiving medical treatment in hospital. Seven workers present during the incident have been detained at the Municipal Theatre police station and are scheduled to appear before the prosecutor today as part of the self-charge procedure.

The Hellenic Police reported that a contractor is among those arrested, facing charges under article 286, which pertains to violations of building rules and general building regulations. The other individuals detained are similarly accused of infringing building regulations.

Emergency response teams, including 24 firefighters with 8 vehicles and the 1st Emergency Rescue Team (EMAK), were dispatched to the site in Pasalimani following the collapse. Initial reports indicate that a permit for minor works had been previously issued by the municipality of Piraeus.

The incident is currently under a preliminary investigation by the Fire Service’s competent department to determine the cause and any further legal implications.
