The Equality Peace and Friendship Party (KIEF) has emerged as the leading party in two of the three prefectures of Thrace, according to the current results of the 2024 European elections. KIEF appears to be making significant gains in Rhodopi and is finishing first in Xanthi, with nearly double the percentage of votes compared to ruling New Democracy.
In Rhodopi, with 38.49% of votes counted, KIEF has secured 41.34%, followed by New Democracy with 17.7%, and PASOK in third place with 9%.
In Xanthi, with 50% of votes counted, KIEF leads with 29.44%, while New Democracy follows with 19.97%, SYRIZA with 9.54%, and PASOK with 9.11%.
This marks the third time that the Minority KIEF has participated in the European elections, having previously prevailed in the two prefectures of Thrace in 2019.
