Police raid on squat in Exarchia, Athens

Greek police raided and cleared a squatted building in the Exarchia area of Athens early Tuesday morning, at the junction of Themistokleous and Koletti streets.
Riot police and special units took part in the operation. According to reports, no one was inside the building at the time.
Officers collected various items from the site and are now examining the space for fingerprints and DNA evidence. The area remains sealed off by police.
Greek broadcaster ERT also reported that some young locals protested against the raid, and several people were taken in for questioning by the Attica Police Headquarters.
