After revelations surfaced regarding potential tampering with audio recordings, law enforcement, acting on instructions from Public Prosecutor Sotiris Bakaimis, confiscated hard drives from OSE's offices. These drives hold the original conversations between the arrested station master and train drivers from the night of February 28, 2023. This effort, led by the Attica Security Directorate with prosecutorial oversight, seeks to compare the intact recordings with those suspected to have been edited, to verify any alterations.

Additionally, officials are set to gather soil samples from a privately owned area in Koulouri where debris from the accident was deposited. Scheduled for Friday, this step is in response to a prosecutor’s command and appeals from the victims’ families.

The collected soil will be subjected to chemical analysis and searched for genetic material. This will mirror examinations performed at the crash site and the location in Koulouri, the latter remaining under the oversight of the Hellenic Police. In addition, search dogs trained to detect DNA samples will be deployed to the area, probably during Friday’s operation, but it hasn’t been confirmed.
