The government has rushed to shut down the plenary session of parliament with the aim of passing as painlessly as possible the measures demanded by the troika during summer sessions. With the opportunity and of course, completely by chance, potential criminal responsibilities have been written off of the former Prime Ministers George Papandreou and Lucas Papademos, of the Deputy PM Evangelos Venizelos and of the other members of the Papandreou and Papademos governments, over the Memorandum, the PSI, the arms procurement and submarine scandals and the Lagarde List. As a bonus for the government the discussion over the Baltakos case which had been requested by SYRIZA is indefinitely postponed yet again.

Mudslinging from Golden Dawn

Parliament turns into an arena with slurs and accusations without evidence

Three of the Golden Dawn MPs imprisoned pending trial appeared in parliament and gave themselves over to unprecedented ravings filled with threats, mudslinging and accusations without evidence during the discussion over the suspension of their parliamentary immunity. What was also unprecedented was the group that had gathered to receive the three within parliament shouting Golden Dawn slogans. Outside parliament in front of the tomb of the unknown soldier Golden Dawn supporters were also provocative displaying nazi symbols.

Stournaras makes a secret trip over debt, bonds

Yannis Stournaras was searching for allies yesterday during his surprise trip to Paris during which he met officials from Francois Hollande’s administration. At the same time he rolled out the carpet for a new exit to the markets which will be accompanied by a revision of the country's GDP.
