“To ask for greater flexibility is not enough, we have to present a full and concise plan” said Renzi while adding that “Italy should propose an agenda for the European growth which cannot be neglected”.
“We no longer belong to those countries who are subject to criticism such as Spain and Portugal… it is essential that Italy raises its voice against austerity and for growth”.
The head of the Italian centre-left, added that “the first way of fighting against poverty is growth and the creation of job opportunities”. he also claimed that the most recent reform of the work market legislation, undertaken by his government should be considered as a “left act” since it helped increase steady jobs.
The reform has been criticized by the Italian unions as one which promotes non permanent jobs , and allows for easier redundancies.
