The tribute to Elia Kazan is the fourth event organised by the Greek Film Archive in the framework of the project “Cinephilia in the New Age” included in the NSRF 2007-­ 2013.

The event is a collaboration with Fox Entertainment and its chairman Mr Jim Giannopoulos, to whom the Greek Film Archive extends its heartfelt thanksfor his defining contributionto the relizations of the tribute.

The event is also supported by the UCLA Film & Television Archive, as well as UIP Distribution.
 
The tribute includes:
 
-The opening film will be Viva Zapata (1952) screening on Thursday, 9th October.
 
-A total of fifteen (15) Elia Kazan films, ten (10) of which will screen in restored formats. Several films will be introduced by film critics, authors, psychoanalysts, including Tasos Goudelis, Epameinondas Theodoridis, Eleftheria Dimitromanolaki, Venia Vergou and others.
 
-The documentary A Letter To Elia (2010) directed by Martin Scorsese and Kent Jones could not be missed by this tribute and it is also included. 
 
-And finally, the section Study on Kazan with the screening of two Greek films, 1922 by Nikos Koundouros (1978) and Brides by Pantelis Voulgaris (2004), as evidence of the high influence that Kazan had over the Greek cinema. 
 
-A round table to analyze Elia Kazan’s multi-­‐faceted work under the title Elia Kazan: Master and Rebel, which will be held at the Greek Film Archive on Wednesday 0ctober 15th at 19.30.
