“When we show great solidarity -Europe did more for Greece than for any other country- many find it difficult to accept that this is necessary and correct. But when Greece is not honouring her obligations, this makes the efforts of those who want to help and continue to show their support even more difficult. Mr.Schulz could have been a part of those efforts concerning his comrades in Greece. All he has to do is make sure that what we signed on July gets done. Then we will have done enough”.

When asked about the opinion of M.Schulz, that the acts of the German FinMin have made him to be hated by many, Mr.Schauble answered that he wouldn't want to fall to this level of discussion.

Concerning the refugee crisis, Mr.Schauble expressed his satisfaction about he Summit which demonstrated that “We are in the path to collaborate and put the whole situation under control”, while he made it clear that he had urged A.Merkel to try and collaborate with Turkey. “I am very happy that she did it and I stood behind her, because I have already said that we cannot solve the problem on our own. If we want to maintain open borders in Europe, then Europe must be able to control its outer borders”.
