Six people arrested in connection with an incident at the Law School have been released on bail with conditions. They deny all charges and claim they have been unfairly targeted by the police. Following their hearings, the six accused were freed under certain restrictions. The incident in question took place on 30 April during an event at the National and Kapodistrian University’s Law School, where a PhD student was injured after an attack in one of the lecture rooms.

The conditions imposed on the accused include a ban on leaving the country, a requirement to report to the police station twice a month, and a prohibition on approaching the victim or any university areas other than those they attend as students.

The charges against them vary but include one serious offence and eight misdemeanours. The serious charge relates to causing grievous bodily harm, while the misdemeanours include forming a criminal group, disrupting public services, illegal violence, disobedience, carrying and possessing weapons, among others.

Accused deny charges, allege targeting

All six deny the accusations, insisting they were not involved in the attack and were at the Law School for a different event at the time. They also claim the police have targeted them unfairly.
