“No compromise”

Wednesday, 5 March:

  • Pre-gatherings for the Athens mobilisation are scheduled at Propylaea and the Temple of Olympian Zeus at 6:30 PM.
  • In Thessaloniki, the rally will take place at the Venizelos statue at 7:00 PM.
  • In Larissa, a gathering will be held at the central square at the same time.

Friday, 7 March:

  • A gathering will be held in Athens in front of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens at 12:00.

“Over 1.5 million people flooded the streets and squares of every city in the country, bringing oxygen and life to the fight. The images captured on the streets of Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras, Larissa, and throughout Greece are unforgettable and moving.”

“The enormous success of the strike and protests proved the limitless power of collective action. Our overwhelming participation conveyed a clear message: hold all political and criminal players accountable for the crime at Tempe, end the cover-up, and abolish profit-driven policies that treat our lives, needs, and safety as mere costs. We will not stand for a policy that stifles us in the twenty-first century,” claimed the student Unions of Athens.

We have no trust in the ND government or the parties that have governed the country, in the state, the EU, the institutions, or the ‘Justice’ that serves injustice. We’ve demonstrated it again: when injustice becomes law, resisting, questioning, and fighting become a duty! These days bear the mark of the people and the youth!” they added.

“Nothing can hide or ‘cloud’ the massive protests. We condemn the government and the police, who suffocated the people and youth with tear gas on the day we were all calling for oxygen, staging scenes of clashes. They failed to impose a climate of terror, and they will not succeed. We are determined to strengthen the fight against the policies that violate our lives and dreams,” the students continued.

We will continue, even more massively and decisively, ‘until the end’ to seek justice and prevent a new Tempe disaster. We are the voice of all the victims. Justice will be won through struggle on the streets!” they concluded.
