The Institutions, as the former Troika is now known are in Greece since yesterday but they will not be seeing any members from the Greek government in order to organise and update between them - A.Merkel and C.Lagarde are meeting today; Greece will be in their agenda-Poul Thomsen and W.Schauble are scheduled to meet within the next days- Greece is proposing a 1,8bn euro package which includes expenditure cuts and indirect taxation
At the end of the first round of meetings, the Greek FinMin E.Tsakalotos stated that the discussion only touched upon the schedule of the folloeing days while there was no mention of the WikiLeaks disclosures.
On Tuesday the head of the IMF will meet the German Chancellor, C.Lagarde. They are tο discuss the completion of the evaluation as well as the future handling of the Greek debt.
W.Schauble will meet with the head of the European branch of the IMF regarding the same subjects.
The IMF has long held the position that the Greek debt should be reduced if it was to agree that Greece can continue with a lighter set of reforms and measures. Germany has always been adamantly against a haircut of the debt yet it also wants the IMF to keep participating in the program at, almost, any cost.
