A boat carrying 35 migrants was located 49 nautical miles south-southeast of Gavdos and its passengers were later picked up and rescued by a Greek patrol boat.
According to the Hellenic Coast Guard, the operation was carried out under the coordination of the Unified Search and Rescue Coordination Centre (EKSED), after the boat was spotted by a nearby Bahamas-flagged cargo ship.
The 35 migrants are expected to be transported by a Coast Guard vessel to the port of Agia Galini.
