Thousands of people gathered at the Pavlos Fyssas memorial in Keratsini before joining an anti-fascist march to the memorial of the Kokkinia Blockade.
At the head of the march was the banner of the Pavlos Killah P. Fyssas Cultural Association. Fyssas’s father, Takis Fyssas, and his mother, Magda Fyssa, marched alongside Yiannis Maggos, Panos Routsi and members of the association, followed by solidarity groups, social movements and anti-fascist organisations.
At the Kokkinia Blockade memorial, Fyssas’s parents laid flowers in memory of those executed there, accompanied by Manos Loizos’s song ‘The Accordion’.
The march marking the 13th anniversary of Fyssas’s murder came just days after the release from prison of Ilias Kasidiaris, the convicted former Golden Dawn spokesman.
The rally ended with anti-fascist protesters raising their fists and chanting: ‘Fascism will not pass – Pavlos lives, crush the Nazis.’
