Greek American Alexander Payne directed and co-wrote the films Election, About Schmidt, Sideways and The Descendants.

Following in the footsteps of Jack Nicholson and George Clooney, Bruce Dern stars in Payne’s new film, Nebraska, as an elderly man with early dementia who believes that he has won $1 million after receiving some misleading junk mail, a role for which he won best actor at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival.

Nebraska has also recently been nominated for six Independent Spirit Awards, including best feature and best director.
