The action sought to send the message that ‘companies that continue to expand their activities in Israel and make profits amid conditions of genocide and apartheid cannot be treated as “business as usual”’.

According to the organisers, the protest was held over the company’s continued complicity with the Israeli apartheid regime and the genocide against the Palestinian people.

During the protest, participants distributed information material explaining the reasons for the boycott, highlighting Zara’s deepening economic ties with Israel and the international campaign called by the Palestinian BDS movement.

The BDS movement’s statement was also read out during the intervention, followed by discussions with passers-by who showed interest in the campaign and its aims.

‘The message remains clear: companies that continue to expand their activities in Israel and make profits amid conditions of genocide and apartheid cannot be treated as “business as usual”,’ BDS Greece said in its statement.
