Poisoning of students in Lamia: Arson suspected in “Giannitsi” factory fire
The Directorate for Combating Arson Crimes of the Fire Brigade has concluded that the fire was intentionally set. Findings from officers who have gathered evidence from surveillance cameras and witness testimonies have corroborated this. The investigation is ongoing, with the prosecutor already informed of the details.
The incident has drawn significant attention because of its potential connection with the recent poisoning of students. The Prosecutor of the Supreme Court has intervened, requesting an investigation into whether the fire is linked to the contaminated meals. This suspicion is heightened by the fact that the Hellenic Food Authority (EFET) had scheduled an inspection of the factory the day after it was destroyed.
