Passengers, left without explanation for the stoppage, expressed concern and began to disembark from the train, according to reports by Open.

Preliminary information suggests that the delay occurred due to safety protocols. The preceding train, which had already reached the Venizelou and Dimokratia stations, experienced heavy passenger flow during boarding and disembarking, necessitating a delay for the following train.

This latest incident follows a significant breakdown on Saturday afternoon when another train stalled while carrying passengers. In that case, passengers were forced to exit the train and walk through the tunnel to safety, highlighting ongoing operational challenges for the newly launched metro system.
