People in Europe, Northern Africa and some parts of the Middle East will be able to see a partial solar eclipse on Friday, whilst a total solar eclipse will be visible in the Faroe Islands and Svalbard in Norway, the last such event visible in Europe until 2026. In Athens the phenomenon will be visible from 10.40 a.m. to 12.50 p.m. and the National Observatory of Athens' website will feature a live stream of the event here.

Warning; looking at the eclipse directly can damage your eyes, so be sure to use special eclipse glasses if you want to view the event. Alternatively, NASA has detailed instructions on how to make your own pinhole camera.
