A criminal case related to the Tempe railway disaster, involving PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis as well as former ministers and current government members, was submitted and announced in the Greek Parliament on Tuesday, 18 February. This procedure follows a complaint filed by a survivor injured in the tragedy.

The case, forwarded by the Minister of Justice in accordance with provisions on ministerial criminal liability, implicates Kyriakos Mitsotakis along with several political figures involved in the management of transport and infrastructure: Konstantínos Ach. Karamanlis, Christos Spirtzis, Michalis Chrysochoidis, Mikhail Papadopoulos, Georgios Karagiannis, Nikolaos Mavraganis, and Geοrgios Gerapetritis.

This criminal investigation stems from a complaint filed by a survivor of the Tempe railway disaster, who was seriously injured in the collision.
