Specifically, Mr. Panagiotopoulos asserted that “there can be no national and credible asylum system without a national and credible returns system,” and highlighted the ministry’s collaboration with the Hellenic Ministry of Citizen Protection and the “need to intensify contacts with third countries.”

Regarding the European discussion on migration, which the minister claimed “Greece is leading,” he stated that a decision is expected to be made to “revise the returns policies towards a more intensive approach.”
