Lawyers say Nazi ideology motivated attack on anti-fascist in Elefsina
The lawyers also confirmed that the suspects remain at large, despite having been identified by police. They called on the authorities to locate and question eyewitnesses who were present at the scene and urged the media to respect the privacy of the victim and his family.
Their statement reads:
‘On 8 October 2026, at approximately 4.10pm, our client was subjected to an ambush-style attack with intent to kill outside his home in Elefsina.
‘The perpetrators have already been identified by the police. The motive for the attack was disclosed to our client by one of the perpetrators before the assault began.
‘According to what he was told, the attack is linked to the perpetrators’ Nazi ideology and the victim’s anti-racist beliefs and social activism.
‘The attack was preceded by surveillance and the tracking of our client, followed by threats against him, an attempted murder involving three knife strikes, two of which wounded him while the third caused a cut to his abdomen, and an attempted robbery.
‘Our client is being treated at Tzaneio Hospital. His condition has stabilised and his life is no longer in danger.
‘The perpetrators remain at large. There were eyewitnesses at the scene of the attack who must be located and questioned by the competent authorities.
‘As our client and his family are going through an extremely difficult time, we ask the media to exercise the necessary respect and discretion, protecting his privacy and that of his loved ones.
