Manolis Glezos raises the banner of resistance
The prominent left-wing figure and SYRIZA MP is criticizing his party on some of its basic policies.

* On May 30, 1941, Manolis Glezos, along with his friend Apostolos Santas, climbed secretly on the Acropolis tore down the swastika and raised the Greek flag again.  His action inspired people to resist against the German occupation and established him as anti-Nazi hero and a living “symbol of resistance”.

The internal investigation didn’t find any organized cells of Golden Dawn in the police, however they ascertained that there are many incidents of abuse of power and violence, that high-ranking officers tolerate and cover up. Motorcycle police squads are the most violent. In the region where Golden Dawn is more powerful, police violence is higher, especially since 2012 when the neo-Nazi party entered the Parliament.

4.1 billion worth of financial obligations push the government to compromise for a new bundle of measures. Interest, amortization and repayments will be covered by the new tranche.  
Troika’s most powerful tool in the negotiations is the €5.9 billion tranches that are approved but still pending. Greek government hopes to receive this amount till December in order to pay part of the amortization and interests of the public debt. The creditors threaten to keep withholding the money if the Greek government doesn’t agree on the new bundle of measures.

Lavrov gives promises for cheaper natural gas
The Russian Foreign Minister announced significant decreases in natural gas prices during a meeting with Greek PM Antonis Samaras. He also confirmed that Moscow is still interested in the Greek railways and the port of Thessaloniki, both available for privatization.
