Vasilis Maggos’ name rewritten on mural after being erased

The mural had been painted by fellow activists in memory of Vasilis Maggos, a victim of police violence. It featured the slogan closely associated with him: “Even if we never win, we will always fight.” Below it, they had written his name, which unknown individuals attempted to erase, according to Yiannis Maggos post.
“Shadowy figures, operating like something out of the underworld, had erased it the dead of night. The same people who had removed the plaque outside the courthouse, where he was beaten. Darkness will always be darkness. Light will always be light!” Giannis Maggos wrote in a later post, drawing a clear contrast between those who hide and those who proudly stand by the side they have chosen.
